Abstract

Inhibition of cell proliferation activity of acetic acid derivatives - 4-chloroacetylphenylacetic acid and 4-chlorophenoxyacetiс acid using MTT, neutral red and LDH assays were assessed. 4-Cl-acetylphenylacetic acidexhibited a high cytotoxic activity against HeLa and HEp-2 cancer cells with IC50 value of 5.3 and 1.0 µg/ml respectively. Also these substances were studied for their antioxidant activities by changes in activity of GST, GR, SOD, MDA. It was found that these compounds do not exhibit antioxidant properties, as the increase of MDA and GR enzyme - markers of cellular damage.
